OUR POLICIESHolds and Deposits If we are holding your bunny for longer than one week, we require a non refundable deposit to hold them. The deposit will be half the cost of the rabbit, which will be taken off the total price at the time of pick up. (Example: For a $50 rabbit, the deposit would be $25 at the time of holding, and $25 at the time of sale) If the buyer decides not to purchase the rabbit after all, the deposit will not be refunded. The deposit may be waived at our discretion. (Policy Updated November 15, 2020) Unsatisfied with a purchase of one of our rabbits? You will have 30 days to return the rabbit to get half of your money back. After 30 days, we will take the rabbit back with no refund, no questions asked. (Policy Updated November 15, 2020) Did something unfortunate happen within the first three days of purchase? Within three days of purchasing if the rabbit dies suddenly, then you have the opportunity to get either a full refund or the ability to exchange for a different rabbit. Bunny owners must contact us within 24 hours of the bunny’s death, or we will not be responsible for a refund. While changing feeds is an option that all bunny owners have, and we encourage bunny owners to do so, if the cause of death is digestive distress caused by a feed change, we are not liable for any fatality that may occur as a result. After this period, we will not be held responsible for any loss or illness that may arise. (Policy Updated November 15, 2020) Age of Sale We will not sell a bunny before it is eight weeks of age. Due to bunnies growth, it may be difficult to predict the quality of the bunny at the point of sale. While we pride ourselves on offering quality stock, we cannot guarantee show quality of young and growing bunnies. (Policy Updated November 15, 2020) Pedigrees and Birth Certificates Non-pedigree stock will be sold with a Birth Certificate which states the bunny's parents' "call" names, the bunny's date of birth, breed, and gender. Pedigree stock will be sold with their pedigree, and unless planned on prior to the sale, the rabbit's name will appear as their ear number, however a new name may be written in upon purchase. (Policy Updated November 15, 2020) Tattoos Regardless of pedigree status, all bunnies will automatically come with a tattoo in their left ear unless requested prior to six weeks of age. This is for identification purposes and does not harm the bunny. (Policy Updated May 8, 2023) |
HISTORY OF OUR BUSINESS
Whispering Creek Rabbitry officially started in 2009. Before that point, Whispering Creek Farm had raised New Zealand and Californian rabbits for meat. In 2007, we started breeding mix breed bunnies for pets; we had an Angora buck, a Dutch doe, and a Californian/New Zealand cross doe descended from our previous breeding operation.
In 2009, we got our first Holland Lop doe and buck, Mane Frame's Mia (Mia) and Katie's Blue Steel (Blue), and we dove into the world of showing rabbits. In 2014, we took a break from breeding pedigree rabbits in order to focus on education, then resumed in 2018. Since then, we have been focusing on growing and perfecting our system and setup. In 2020, we became members of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), and returned to showing rabbits.
